Let's face it, students nowadays are either useless rubbish of the society, or even more useless rubbish of the society. For those who are rebels, truants, smokers and drug users et cetera, they are labeled unrecyclable. Those who are good in their studies and are obedient are stamped with approval all over, using the highest quality wax and seals. They are the "hope" of the country.
Teachers, educationists and parents bemoan that the quality of students are going downhill. Recently, the government has been going on about the fact that students are too exam- orientated and this needs to be abolished. That is plain bu**sh**, pardon my language. Obviously they are ALL about exam orientation. Without exams, what is their aim in school life? I am a student and that is the plain fact. Ask others around my age and they'll all agree with me. Why are exams important? Because they are our salvation. The undeniable truth is this: Exams, results and grades determine our LIFE. Without good grades, we cannot enter good universities. That means we can't get good jobs and end up earning less money. We can just about kiss goodbye to our life at that point.
And now, to get to the main point: Why is the education system going down the drain? One word: teachers. No offense, it is true that parents and students are also in fault, but lets just concentrate on the teachers here.
In the olden day society of China, the Chinese philosopher Confucius named teachers and educationists as the top of the chain and as individuals who are the most respected of all. What do we see now? Right about the opposite. So here comes the why, why?
How do they train teachers nowadays? In teacher training colleges. I should know, my mum is a lecturer in one. Why do teachers become teachers? Because they can't find other jobs. That is definitely the truth. The job market is such that no career opportunities for engineers and technicians. These people who are already disillusioned hardly work hard at being a teacher. They are half hearted in everything they do, so how do they teach students to be GOOD students?
The existing senior teachers who are going to retire soon are the ones who really do impart useful knowledge. And from these senior teachers, only a handful of them know how to teach. There are well meaning teachers, knowledgeable teachers, teachers who are full of themselves, selfish teachers... Another system in government are the DGs. Teachers now, instead of concentrating on imparting knowledge, are also concentrating on how to earn more money. This can be done by raising their "pangkat". Is it any wonder that students are degenerating?
Add maths was never my brother's strong point. Once, a teacher of his suggested for him to get tuition outside. My mother was so angry, she nearly blew the teacher's head off. This is certainly true. Instead of going outside, shouldn't the teacher make a larger effort to teach?

Grandmother Toad
There is a saying that if you are lost, just find a toad, lick it's back, and I Mean Lick it, and it'll tell you the way out. I'm sure I don't know whether it is true or not, but you never know. Just a helpful tip for future reference!! That's if you DARE to do it.
Well, you can't see it, but there's a rainbow there. Really. You just have to look really really hard. Rainbows are kinda mysterious. I like them, plus they are so beautiful. There is a legend about rainbows. I bet you've heard of it. The crock of gold at the end of the rainbow?? It's great, and believable if someone actually managed to find one. What a way to be a wet blanket, eh? Little kids, I hope you are not going to be disillusioned just because of what I said.
AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!!
Guys, i'm so so sorry. I uploaded 2 of the videos, but there's a glitch somewhere, and I can't upload the rest!! There's 4 more, and i don't know what to do. Is this the part where I break down and cry??

Attention all 5 Setias' !!! (2010)
This is the video I took when my classmates acted out Sabor from the Malay komsas. So sorry that I took this long to upload it. In fact, the uploading process is taking forever. Whatever. In any case, please ignore the irritating comments throughout the videos about having not enough space in the camera. Sweat. That's me!! well........ ENJOY!! Btw, since I took it with a digital camera, here are some tips to actually hear what they are saying. Listen at full volume. Listen with surround speakers or earpieces. Tell everyone else in the room to shut up. Listen in the dead of the night. That's all. Okay, ENJOY!!

CARS
The other day, my friend showed me a book by an author that he admires and loves. I don't remember the name, but basically he was talking about the different types of cars, comparing them and their prices and also their attributes.
Because he was singing high praises about that book, I took it to read it just to see how good it is. The chapter that i got was about different models of cars by Mercedes. I don't remember the name of the car... it's just too long and ridiculous. I think it was the SLK something something and it's sibling.
Now, this author was comparing these 2 cars, saying that one is more expensive than the other (obviously), when actually, the cheaper one seemed to be better in the sense that it is practical, looks good, feels good, and the functions are not as complex and irritating. Well, that's all fine and good, but then he compared the difference in speed in both the cars, and this is the gist was what he said, "Both of the cars are fast (of course, they're Mercedes), up to dunno how many kilometers per hour. Well, a lot. The cheaper car( I'm saying it like this because I don't remember the name of the car) is slower than the more expensive one by 0.8 seconds(if I remember it correctly). So, in conclusion, the cheaper car is better than the more expensive one."
When I read that, I thought: What a stupid comparison, and what a stupid thought, and what a stupid reason to buy a car based on it's speed. This is the reason why:
It doesn't matter how fast the car can go, because the world is governed by rules, and that includes the road. You won't be ALLOWED to go over the speed limit anyway, so how fast your car can go is irrelevant, dumb, lame and inconsequential.
The END

Childhood happiness
curiouser and curiouser...
That's the most famous phrase found in Alice in Wonderland. Obviously everyone knows about the show by now. Mad Hatter played by Johnny Depp and all that. I was reading the article in the Variety about the book and show. A line in it caught my attention and it got me thinking. Alice had gone to Wonderland before, in the book Alice through the looking glass. But, now that she's 19, she doesn't remember a single thing about her trip, I'm not sure she forgot about it right after, or as she grew older.
It makes me wonder, how could she forget and experience as wonderful as that? Is it because the mind closes as you grow older? And that leads to the topic I'm talking about. Frankly, I'm jealous of children. They have these wonderful minds that can absorb anything like a sponge, and they have the ability to look at something, believe in it and adapt to a situation. Sadly, this changes as one grows older. Look at Alice, when she was in Wonderland before, she did not question anything, like what an adult would do. She took it in her stride and coped with it. That's what children do, they BELIEVE.
For instance, if a child sees a fairy, they believed. If an ADULT saw one, they would most probably dismiss it as a butterfly, or an optical illusion. Do you see the difference? The child's mind and an adult's. When does a child grows up and stop believing? Is it when they see something? Go through something? Suffer a breakup? When they get betrayed?
Some would say, growing up is good. It trains you. I'm don't dispute with that. But, children should be allowed to stay as a child for as long as they should. For example, you don't ask a child to become the man of the house at 5!! In my opinion, human beings get disillusioned with life too young. They grow up too fast. Children are better than adults in the sense that they are open- minded, compared to adults who are narrow- minded and who refuses to accept something as reality even when it is nothing but the truth.
But, no matter how hard we try to fight against it, it is futile. We have to grow up. We have to stop believing, simply because of social stigma or conception or society views. Life's like that. Whether you want it or not, you HAVE to do it, because there's no one else. Just like Harry Potter, Tom Sawyer, Oliver Twist...... What do you think?
However, staying as a child forever is not something you want either. Like Peter Pan. That's the problem with humans. Their wants can never end. They always want multiple things at one time. That's true for even when you're eating. Let's face it, you wouldn't just want to eat rice, right?

Blood group AB or O?
I was just thinking the other day... (I'm always thinking, actually). If you were given a choice to actually pick your own blood group, would you pick AB or O? I'm not talking about A or B. Just AB and O. Sure all of you studied it in science or bio. AB is the universal recipient, and O is the universal donor. Most people would say: O, of course!! Why? Because I'm noble and kind and I LOVE donating to people to help them. Maybe some would go for AB... acknowledging the fact that they are in reality, a selfish person. The thing is? Why bother thinking about it at all? Whether you would pick AB or O, it doesn't matter, because you're stuck with whatever blood group you have!! Just kidding. What I mean is that, whether you're kind or selfish, who cares? Be yourself and don't pretend to be someone you are not. HYPOCRITE.
